  • Lee State Park

Located very close to Interstate 20, this area has several trails that allow you to view some unusual natural features, with a pond, springs, and a large amount of wetland. It is also known as the “Lee State Natural Area”. Equestrian facilities here include horse trails, stables, a show ring, and equestrian camping.

  • Lynchburg Savanna Heritage Preserve and Wildlife Management Area

Visit the Lynchburg Savanna Heritage Preserve to see one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems in the state, the wet longleaf pine savanna. A hiking trail loops through the preserve providing plenty of opportunities for wildlife observation. Quite a variety of plant life will be found along the walking paths here.

  • Pearl Fryar Topiary Garden

When Pearl Fryar moved to Bishopville in 1976, the three acres that were located near his house consisted of nothing but flat, barren fields. In the early 1980s, he began planting and pruning trees and shrubs. After several decades of work, he has transformed the property into a wonderful topiary garden that attracts around 5,000 visitors per year.
