Long-Distance Trails in South Carolina
Long-distance trails are a great way to see and experience the wide variety of scenery that South Carolina has to offer. Currently, there are two such trails which criss-cross the state from one end to the other. Although both of these trails contain gaps, they provide some great opportunities to see a large portion of the state on multi-day treks.
The Palmetto Trail is a multi-purpose trail which connects the mountains of South Carolina to the seacoast. It passes by a wonderful assortment of scenery.
The East Coast Greenway runs through South Carolina's low country from the North Carolina border to the Georgia border. Sections are open in Horry, Georgetown, Charleston, and Beaufort counties.
